The position is suited for an educator trained and qualified in Special Education and experienced in supporting diverse learners, particularly within an International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The Learning Support Teacher will ensure that all students, including those with diverse learning needs, have equitable access to the curriculum and the tools to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This role requires collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and specialists to develop and implement individualized support plans and strategies. **Key Responsibilities**: - Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for students requiring additional support. - Use a range of evidence-based instructional strategies, interventions, and assistive technologies to support students' learning and engagement. - Conduct assessments to identify students' learning strengths and needs, monitor progress, and adjust support strategies as necessary. - Provide small-group and one-on-one instruction, focusing on skill areas such as language development, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning. - Facilitate smooth transitions between PYP and MYP for students with learning needs, ensuring continuity of support. - Support and train colleagues in best practices for inclusive education, differentiation, and student-centered approaches. - Build strong relationships with students, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. - Partner with parents to ensure clear communication about student progress, challenges, and strategies to support learning at home. - Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, adhering to the PUE Child Protection Policy and all safeguarding guidelines. **Qualifications and Attributes**: - A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, or a related field. - Teaching certification in Special Education or Learning Support. - A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role, preferably in an international school setting. - Experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and/or Middle Years Programme (MYP), or comparable inquiry-based curricula. - Proficiency in developing and delivering differentiated instruction and using assessments to inform teaching practices. - Demonstrated ability to integrate assistive technologies and innovative tools into teaching to enhance learning for all students. - A growth mindset and commitment to professional learning and reflective practice. - Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of successful collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. - Enthusiasm for contributing to the school community, including participation in co-curricular activities. **Preferred Qualifications**: - A Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field. - Experience working with English Language Learners (ELLs) or students with specific learning disabilities, such as dyslexia or ADHD. - Expertise in behavior management strategies and social-emotional learning (SEL) approaches. **About **Qatar Academy Sidra**: **Qatar Academy Sidra** - Qatar Foundation.
