<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2> <p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p> <p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p> <h2>Overview</h2> <p><strong>This is a pro-bono position.</strong></p> <p>JerseySTEM is seeking a member to <strong>standardize and operate our productivity stack</strong>—the set of tools that enables collaboration and communication across our fully remote, member-driven organization. This role focuses on <strong>simplifying workflows, driving adoption, leveraging automation</strong>, and <strong>building a lean team to sustain and scale these efforts</strong>.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Maintain and improve JerseySTEM’s productivity stack</strong> and their adoption and proper use (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, etc) to support organizational goals.</li> <li><strong>Standardize core tools and processes</strong> for communication, document sharing, and project management.</li> <li><strong>Introduce automation wherever possible</strong> to streamline onboarding, task tracking, and routine operations.</li> <li><strong>Recruit and lead a lean team</strong> to support productivity stack operations and automation initiatives.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate with the TECH team and leadership</strong> to ensure tools are integrated and easy to use.</li> <li><strong>Provide basic onboarding and guidance</strong> for members on productivity tools.</li> <li><strong>Monitor tool usage and troubleshoot issues</strong> to keep operations smooth.</li> <li><strong>Document simple best practices</strong> for tool usage and share with members.</li> <li>Participate in virtual meetings to align on priorities and share updates.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Familiarity with <strong>collaboration tools</strong> (Google Workspace, Slack, Trello, Jira, etc.).</li> <li>Interest in <strong>automation tools</strong> (Zapier, Make, Google Apps Script) to reduce manual work.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>explain tools simply</strong> to non-technical members.</li> <li>Comfortable working in a <strong>remote, member-driven environment</strong>.</li> <li>Commitment of <strong>5–6 hours per week</strong>.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience with <strong>workflow automation</strong> or process improvement.</li> <li>Prior exposure to <strong>nonprofit operations</strong> or distributed teams.</li> <li>Retired professionals or those seeking meaningful pro-bono work  and able to make long term commitment  are welcome.</li> </ul>
